Montpelier Station is close to James Madison's home, Montpelier, and is on Route 20 a few miles from the Town of Orange. The station is in good repair on the exterior and the tracks are still in use. There is a road project going on around the station that is probably related to the ongoing restoration of Montpelier. My belief is that the station will be maintained as part of the overall project. There are also Civil War markers in the area.
Route 20 (Constitution Highway) is a scenic and historic highway in the Virginia piedmont.
