According to the tour guide at the Sleepy Hollow cemetery, immediate atoll adjacent to this churchyard cemetery, some of the remains here are 200 years older than the oldest remains in the municiple cemetery next door.
This is the churchyard cemetery referred to in Washington Irving's "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Irving himself is buried in the sleepy Hollow cemetery next door, overlooking this churchyard cemetery and the creek where the frightful bridge crossing was to have taken place.
According to findagrave.com, there are only 26 interments, but there are many more headstones than that on the premises. I believe only 26 sets of remnants could be properly identified by the headstones and church records.
Name of church or churchyard: Old Dutch Burial Grounds
