This painting was made in 1836 and shows the "ridderhofstad" Bolenstein. The current building was built in 1825. The nearby tea house, which can be seen on the painting, was also a part of Bolenstein, but has been disappeared.
Petrus Josephus Lutgers made this painting. He lived from 1808 till 1874, in Loenen aan de Vecht. A street in a new part of Maarssen is named to him.
The painting was made at the coordinates above, along the Zandpad near the Vecht river. It is a part of the TU Delft collection and can only be seen online for the public.
