The Arc Theater is located at 453 SW Coast Highway in Newport, Oregon. The Arc Theater is a prominent feature in the historic Art Deco district of Newport and was built in 1936 as the Midway Theater. Note the Art Deco features including the stepped ziggaraut tower, porthole windows, recessed entry and curved portico. This single-screen theater closed in 1992 but was restored from 1996 to 1998, when it reopened as a mixed-use venue for retail, an art gallery, wine tastings, live theater and concerts called the Ark Historical Theatre and Art Gallery.
