Also known as Friendship Archway, the Chinatown Gateway Arch in downtown Washington, D.C. was dedicated in 1986. The wooden arch, designed by Alfred Liu, is the largest single spanning Chinese arch in the world. The arch, which includes seven roofs, is about 60 feet high and is decorated with 7000 tiles and 272 painted dragons. It was built as a symbol of friendship with Beijing, Washington's sister city."
