EN: The train station of Biasca opened in 1874 and was originally the terminus of the route to Bellinzona and later Locarnor. After the opening of the Gotthard and Ceneri tunnels, the line was continued in 1882 to Immensee in the north and in the south to Chiasso. In 1912 the narrow gauge railway Biasca-Acquarossa was founded, which was abandoned again in 1973.
The main building is still the original structure and is a listed site of regional significance, it is very similar to some of the other stations on the Gotthard route.
Biasca is now the terminus of the local commuter railway line 10 and a regular fast train stop with direct connections to Basel, Zurich, Locarno and Milan. The surrounding communities are accessible by several bus lines.
DE: Der Bahnhof von Biasca wurde 1874 eröffnet und war urssprünglich der Endbahnhof der Strecke nach Bellinzona und kurze Zeit später Locarno. Nach Eröffnung des Gotthard- und Ceneri-Tunnels wurde die Linie 1882 nach Norden mit Immensee und im Süden bis Chiasso weitergeführt. 1912 öffnete die Schmalspurbahn Biasca-Acquarossa, die aber 1973 wieder aufgegeben wurde.
Das unter Denkmalschutz stehende Hauptgebäude ist noch das ursprüngliche Bauwerk, es ähnelt einigen anderen Bahnhöfen auf der Gotthardstrecke.
Biasca ist heute die Endstation der S-Bahn Linie 10 und regelmässiger Schnellzugshalt mit Direktverbindungen bis nach Basel, Zürich, Locarno oder Mailand. Die umliegenden Gemeinden sind durch mehrere Buslinien erchlossen.
