Local chain and famous for their "St. Louis Style" pizza. Which is thin crust, and cut in hand-eatable squares.....they call it "The Square Beyond Compare".

Back in the day...meaning the 30's in this area; Buster Workman ran the unions and other things for Al Capone just across the river (Mississippi) in East St. Louis and Collinsville, Belleville, etc. On the St. Louis side; Imo, Shoulders, ran things.
So, in 1964 when the Imo family opened their first St. Louis Pizzeria, a nic-name arrived which you will not find in the advertisements, but only on the tongues of locals.
Gangster pizza. Back in the 60's high school kids would say: "Hey, let's get some gangster pizza". And Imo's is what they ment, and the fragile word of mouth connection with Big Al is the reason.
Excellent foods, all cooked to order. St. Louis Style Pizza. and I prefer the Lunch Specials.
