I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey reference mark from 1948 in good condition. It is monumented on top of a large boulder at the summit of Swan Lake Point. The disk face is stamped 'SWAN LAKE NO 2' with the year '1948'. The accompanying station mark and other reference mark were also recovered in good condition as well as the azimuth mark. My posted coordinates and the to-reach description from the last good datasheet log are adequate for station recovery with the only main difference being mention of the Swan Lake Lookout Tower signs. The lookout tower no longer exists and the road signs no longer exist either.

FOR 2.2 MILES TO A THREE FORK, KEEP THE MIDDLE FORK AND CONTINUE ON MAIN ROAD FOR 6 MILES TO FORK, KEEP LEFT AND GO 0.5 MILE TO FORK, KEEP LEFT AND CONTINUE FOR 1.5 MILES TO A TRACK ROAD RIGHT AND AZIMUTH MARK ON LEFT, CONTINUE FOR 0.05 MILE TO FORK, TAKE THE RIGHT FORK AND GO EASTERLY UPHILL FOR 1.2 MILES TO A RELAY TOWER AND STATION.REFERENCE MARK 2, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED SWAN LAKE NO 2 1948, IS SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN BOULDER WHICH PROJECTS ABOUT 3 FEET AND ABOUT 3 FEET HIGHER THAN STATION.
