REF MON 150 69 IBC - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Steel obelisk about 12 inches high and 2 inches square with "U.S." on one side and "150-69" on another. On a square concrete base. In the southwest quadrant of section 26, Township 160 N, Range 27 W.

The International Boundary Commission set BOUNDARY REF MON 150 CD US in 1918 near an island. An IBC survey party in 1947 found the mark (only a shaft with no disk) in poor condition, and reported that it was buried in 6 inches of mud. It was not found in 1957 by an IBC survey party. In 1969, a NGS survey party working on behalf of the IBC set REF MON 150 69. There is, or was, a corresponding boundary reference marker across the Rainy River, in Ontario.

In Franz Jevne State Park. From the trailhead for the Hiking Club trail, in the upper campground loop, go north about 244 feet to a T-intersection, then northwesterly 0.12 mile. Mark is about 30 feet north of trail.
