In 2013 the Municipality of Norrköping transformed the west and south side of some downtown land into the
Strömparken (Power Park). A creek, named Lekbäcken, now flows through the park. The stream has a fishway (fish ladder) whose water flows into the River Motala. This will be a trailhead for the fishermen who can get further up the stream. Fishing Road also facilitates game for fishermen, which will be a focus for sport in the city. It is mainly salmon and trout, which are supposed to reside in Lekbäcken and Motala.
In the new stream, it will be possible to see migrating fish at close range - in the middle of midtown.
