The
webcam is at the Bombi Pass Summit, elevation, 1214 metres, or 3983 feet, on Highway 3 between Castlegar and Salmo, BC. The camera is mounted on a high steel pole on the north side of the highway, just to the west of the brake check area.
The camera is accompanied by a pair of solar panels of a few watts of capacity, which, we will assume, is sufficient to keep its battery charged. The camera communicates using telemetry, as there is a UHF antenna accompanying it on the pole, aimed toward Castlegar.
