Today the Ballard Depot is a residence, located not more than about 150 feet from where it originally was located.

The depot was built in 1914, which was about the time that the new main line into downtown Seattle and the bascule bridge adjacent to the station was built. This construction was necessitated by the construction of the Lake Washington Ship Canal along with the Ballard locks and dam, which caused an increase in the elevation of the water behind them. Paul Dorpat's blog has some great 'then and now' photos of the station, including photos of the actual track construction.
