When I took the photo, an elderly gentleman walked. It proves to be an operator of this machine. He said that he had 11 men to handle.
It weighs 90 pounds. It takes a bait the size of a .22 caliber bullet to start the shell. The scope is long, Waterloo-Bromont, no problem. He told me how the men were waiting for the order and who did what. It seems that the third attempt, they made the sign of the cross before shooting.(personal remaks)
A howitzer is a gun whose ratio between the length of the striped portion of the tube and its size is below 20 (25 U.S.). The howitzer designation used among others in the United States, is a word of Czech origin and meaning catapult dating from the Austro-Hungarian empire. At that time, the Czechs engaged in artillery compared the curve of the shell to the projectile trajectory of this weapon.
From the First World War appear artillery that can shoot all angles increase. Since that time, the test is determining the relationship between the length of the striped portion of the tube and its size. Under 20 (25 in the U.S.) is a howitzer, above it is a gun.
