Built in 1947, this station is now deemed inadequate and in need of replacement. The department is trying to obtain the funds to purchase land at a new location and build a new station with separate dormitory rooms, segregated male and female firefighter facilities, and a gym or exercise room for helping firefighters doing 24-hour duty to keep up the physical conditioning demanded by this type of work.
