"Constructed in the 1980s, Leydecker Park features a softball field, three tennis courts, a basketball court and a children's playground with swings and a climbing structure. The outdoor facilities are lit only for scheduled activities or rentals. Free parking is available in the adjacent Harbor Bay Landing lot.
On non-holidays, the three picnic tables can be rented for private parties, as can the softball field from April 1 through October 31. Pricing varies with the size of the group, non-profit status and Alameda residency. Leydecker hosts an ever-changing menu of classes and activities for all ages: Tiny Tots for the pre-school crowd; engineering and construction for elementary schoolers; tennis, softball and flower arranging for adults.
