This bright red caboose rests next to Kapuskasing's railway station. It is now home to the Ron Morel Memorial Museum which looks back at local railway history, pioneer life and Queen Elizabeth II's 1951 visit to Kapuskasing.

The addition of the Queen Elizabeth exhibit was made in 2012 to mark her Diamond Jubilee -- the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne.

The museum is housed in the caboose but also two Canadian National Railway coaches and its engine. There are permanent exhibit on:
* Kapuskasing's World War I internment camp
* Working HO-gauge and N-gauge railway models
* Pioneer life in Northern Ontario

Local artist Maurice Gaudreault (deceased 2001) produced a 37-piece clay sculpture collection showing the daily struggles and hopes of pioneers.

Staff speak French and English and there is a gift shop on site.
