The Model D tractor had the longest production life of any tractor, being manufactured from 1923 to 1953. Because of its unusual timing of firing the cylinders the engine made a distinctive popping sound earning this tractor the nickname "Poppin' Johnny". This particular tractor is in worse shape and probably from an earlier production year than its companion tractor.
