This morning was the day of the Rossland Fall Fair's pancake breakfast, held this year in the fire hall. Being waymarkers, we couldn't miss this breakfast, as it would mean all the equipment would be outside as all the town was feasting inside.
Third up is their Freightliner Tanker/Pumper. The times, they are a changin'. I remember when the only engines one would find in a Freightliner were Cummins, Jimmy or Cat. This one, however, is powered by Mercedes Benz. This, like their Freightliner Pumper, has a crew cab, which I would surmise is the norm. The adaptation on this truck was done by American LaFrance. Remember when almost all fire engines were LaFrances?
This is one of three pumpers and tankers that the
Rossland Fire Department has at its disposal. Also, they still have one of their old 1938/39 Ford pumpers that they herd around to all the area parades and car shows.
