This is a 1938 or 1939 Ford Two Ton adapted as a pumper truck. It was in service in the
Rossland Fire Department for many years. Those old flatties are like Timex watches - they just keep on ticking.
This one has been kept in very good condition and has not been restored, as such, maybe some new paint along the way. It carries lots of old time goodies, such as several fire extinguishers, its original siren, its wooden ladders, several hoses and brass hose nozzles and a fire axe.
Rossland is an alpine city which gets more than its share of snow each winter, so it was necessary that their fire truck be able to cope. As a result, it was ordered as a tandem (both axles are driven) and came with tracks which mounted on the tandem axles to assist it through deep snow. The truck still gets around to all the parades in the area every summer.
