The Saturn Street Steps is a typical San Francisco connector stairway between neighborhoods at different elevations. The open space around these steps is owned by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, but local volunteers have landscaped the area extensively.

There are two stairways through the park gardens that merge to a single entrance stairway at each end. There are benches and small patios along the route where one can enjoy the views. There are many plants, flowers, trees and bushes to enjoy along either path through the park.
