the memorial to the fallen of WW2 has the name E.c.Charlton VC inscribed on it. Edward Colquhoune Charlton was killed in action at the village of Wistedt between Bremen and Hamburgh on 21st of april 1945 and was the last person awarded the Victoria Cross in the European theatre of WW2.
