Forks of Coal Missionary Baptist Church

On September 21, 1833, an arm of Upper Falls of Coal River Church met at the forks of Coal River. The group petitioned, May 1834, and on June 21, 1834, became a distinct church, Forks of Coal River Church, with 25 members. A log meeting house was built in 1855 and was replaced in 1895. Current building built in 1949.
