Built in 1924 for Curtis Cross, this house was designed from plans developed by Clarence L. Smith and finished by Jamieson Parker. It sits atop Fairmount Hill in one of Salem's most prestigious neighborhoods. The roof is covered with red mission tiles and the walls are stuccoed.

Curtis Cross (1887-1939) was a construction secretary and later president of the Valley Packing Company. He was the third generation of the Cross family in the meat packing business in Salem. Mr. Cross also served as director of the YMCA for 15 years. Asel C. Eoff was the house's second owner, founder of Eoff Electric Company.

The home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
