A beautiful glass sundial is mounted on the south side (high up) of the Henry Bellmon Research Center on the Oklahoma State University campus.

The glass sundial above is designed to indicate true local solar time by measuring the apparent movement of the sun across the sky. To obtain central standard time use the chart below to find the correction for today's date and add the appropriate number of minutes to the solar time indicated by the shadow on the sundial face. When daylight saving time is in effect during the part of the year from late winter to late fall add an extra hour to the correction to arrive at central daylight time.
