Placed by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey in 1940, this is one of a series along the old Waneta - Nelway Road. Strangely, the disc is stamped 1942, though it was monumented in 1940. The series runs from R235 to Z235. Most, however, are no longer to be found. Though it has a PID (TO0774), it has no real datasheet. The only datasheet published is on the Canadian NRCAN website, in which its unique ID is listed as 40C010. Below is the only information contained in the NGS website.
Pid Name Lat Lon Elev O o Hv
TO0774 W 235 49 01 54. 117 31 10. 667. 1 OO
TO0774 W 235 49 01 54. 117 31 10. 667. 1 NN
One thing to note is that this benchmark is on the old section of road, which is to the north of the present Seven Mile Dam Road. Easiest way to get to this bit of road is to go east from Highway 22A on Seven Mile Dam Road to Seven Mile Dam, then take the road which heads southwest just before the hairpin turn slightly east of the dam. You'll find the BM on the north side of the road, in the top of the big rock with the faded "BM" painted on the face. It's 1.8 km. west of the turnoff described above. The turnoff is 13.1 km. east on Seven Mile Dam Road from Highway 22A.
