This festival is held in late August, at the Washington County Fair Complex. There are special shows all day long, and many costumed characters are roaming about, interacting with visitors, providing samples of their wares, and using the language of olde.
Some of the events are jousting, a dressage show, animal shows (leopards, vultures), there are competions which visitors can compete in, like axe throwing and strength contests (ring the bell is you can strike the plate hard enough!). There are hand-operated rides (yes, they are actually operated by the staff cranking a wheel!), such as a hammock merry-go-round and a ferris wheel. Lots of vendors of special items (tiaras, food, costumes, keepsakes). Belly dancing, pheasant dances, sword swallowing, a magic show, there is much to see and do!
