The final resting place of V.L. Ivie is at the west side of Resthaven Gardens at the northeast corner of the section. His is a dark colored horizontal marker shared with his wife Anna.

1934: The Apollo Theater opens in Harlem, New York City.
1944: The 16th Academy Awards ceremony is held, the first Oscar ceremony held at a large public venue, Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Casablanca (directed by Michael Curtiz), wins the Best Picture award.
