The J Howe Lyman Gould House was built in 1845. Additiona included a wing in 1875 and the portch in 1890. The property sits on Lockes Village Road right next to the common. The orginal house is Greek Revival in style. J Howe was the original owner, his family was one of the original settlers of Wendell. Lyman Gould, owner as of 1871, served as town clerk. There is historical information that he may have run the house as a hotel called the "Summit House" and was responsible for the addtions to the house.
