It is laid out as a strip of 35 mm film on the pavement.

Bradford has a long association with film going back as far as the invention of the Cieroscope in Manningham in 1896.

A number of famous films have been made in Bradford and in 1983 the museum then known as the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television was opened as a branch of the London Science Museum.

Bradford’s link with film is indeed so highly regarded that in 2009 Bradford became the world’s first UNESCO City of Film.

However this sign was laid out in 2002 and records some of the successful and famous films that have been made in Bradford.

The text on the different clips of the film strip is as follows.
