This area is a beautiful wilderness habitat for many species, including grizzly bears, elk, bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goats, golden eagles, and black bears. It's quite appropriate then that this statue, as well as statues of a mountain goat and a golden eagle are located here at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre.
The statue depicts a female grizzly with her left paw resting on a rock. Next to her is her cub standing up on its rear legs with its front paws leaning on a tree stump.
Unfortunately, no information about the statue is provided nor could we find anything about it on the internet. A sign adjacent to the statue just provides facts about grizzly bears, but nothing about the statue.
