Poole Art Center houses much of Drury University's art department and its art museum. It is located just east of the football stadium. The building itself has a fascinating story - it is a converted Coca-Cola warehouse according to the university's website.

Depending upon which angle is used to look at the piece, it vaguely looks like some animal, but it's like a mind trick with words. You know the feeling, you just have the word on the tip of your tongue, but can't actually think of it. Trying to determine what this sculpture represents is just like that.

Since it stands on the museum's front lawn it invites being touched, and that is permitted. It is some type of sheet metal subject to corrosion, most likely iron.

Each of it many surfaces is flat. Nonetheless, it flows because none of the surfaces are joined at right angles. Most of the plates are joined by welding; in a few places, it is held together by industrial screws. The whole thing is painted an industrial reddish-brown. Its colors change constantly, however, as the sun moves above because of the shadows cast by the various angles and plates.

The piece is app. 7-10 ft. tall.
