Butler County Courthouse Dome (BU1876) - Greenville, AL - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

The courthouse is located in a circle on East Commerce Street, at the intersection with Conecuh Street. It is easy to see from quite a distance.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1944 (FN) STATION IS THE DOME OF THE BUTLER COUNTY COURTHOUSE, LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF MAIN STREET ON THE E EDGE OF THE CITY OF GREENVILLE. IT IS A SMALL DOME ATOP A CLOCK AND BELL TOWER LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF THE ROOF OF A LARGE RED BRICK BUILDING. THE POINT OBSERVED ON WAS THE SMALL BALL AT THE APEX OF THE ROOF.
