Vermutlich wurde schon um 1150 in Niederdresselndorf eine erste Kapelle errichtet. 1620 wurde an die kleine Kapelle ein Turm angebaut. Von diesem Turm existiert heute noch der Eingang, mit einer Inschrift aus lateinischen Buchstaben, sowie der Jahreszahl 1620.
1754 ist dann diese erste Kirche wegen Baufälligkeit abgerissen worden. Die heutige evangelische Kirche wurde am 14. September 1755 feierlich eingeweiht.
