Remisen i Viborg blev tegnet i 1889 af arkitekt Niels Peder Christian Holsøe og anlægget stod færdig i 1896. Remisebygningen har været fredet siden 1992.
Desværre er remisen i meget dårlig stand. Det er en af de fineste bygninger i Danmark og særlig drejeskiven er bevaringsværdig. Men bygningen har fået lov til at forfalde og i 2012 blev bygningen lukket for al adgang.
I over 30 år har Mariager Handest Veteran Jernbane benyttet remisen som værksted, men som bygningen ser ud har de været nød til at efterlade det lokomotiv de har restaureret de sidste 4 år i remisen.
The Railway Roundhouse in Viborg was designed in 1889 by architect Niels Peder Christian Holsøe and the facility was completed in 1896. The roundhouse building has been protected since 1992.
Unfortunately the roundhouse is in a very poor condition. It is one of the finest buildings in Denmark and espessially the turntable is worth preserving. But the building has been allowed to fall into disrepair and in 2012 the building was closed to all access.
For over 30 years, Mariager Handest Veteran Railway has used the roundhouse as a workshop, but they have been forced to leave the train they have restored the last 4 years in the roundhouse, and now the are not allowed to enter the facillity.| This Waymark is dedicated to, and inspired by Q10 - A danish Waymarking pioneer |
