Lake Vermilion State Park is recently purchased, having been owned by U.S. Steel for more than 125 years. It is on the shore of Lake Vermilion, and adjacent to Soudan Underground Mine State Park. So far, the only development of the park for public use is a hiking trail system.
The passport stamp for Lake Vermilion State Park cannot be obtained in the park; it is kept at the park office at Soudan Underground Mine State Park.
The Passport Club kit is $14.95, and can be purchased at most state park offices. The kit includes a pouch, official highway map, a log book to record what you experienced at each park, and passport booklet.
Vehicle permits are $5 per day or $25 per year.
