The Nicholson's brothers opened their first pub in 1873. Nicholson's pubs have continued to offer warm and inviting hospitality and the typical British pub atmosphere.
The Old Thameside is located close to London Bridge within a short stroll of Clink Street, Borough Market and Winchester Walk.
History oozes from the great beams and ancient brickwork of the Old Thameside Inn, once an old spice warehouse. Behind this pub are the remains of Winchester Palace, which once belonged to Cardinal Wolsey. The cobbled road behind the pub has associations with the original Clink prison and next to this pub is a full scale replica of Sir Francis Drake's famous ship - the Golden Hind.
