This sign provides replicas of the fish in Alsea Bay and information about how to identify them. The text reads:
Port of AlseaChinook Salmon: In Chinook Salmon the lower jaw at the base of the teeth is black. They also have spots on both the upper and lower tail lobes.
Cutthroat Trout: have bright red streaks located on the lower jaw. They also have dense patterns of spots across the body and covering the tail.
Coho Salmon: Any Coho Salmon caught in the Alsea must be released because their population is threatened. In Coho Salmon the lower jaw at the base of the teeth is white. They have spots only on the upper love of the tail.
The sign includes additional information about the Male and Female Dungeness Crab, Softshell Clam and Cockle Clam.
