Little is known about Saint Colman, also spelled Kolonat. He was born in Ireland, and was a companion of St. Kilian, along with St. Totnan on their missionary journey to Franconia, Germany. Because of a dispute over the marriage of the Duke Gosbert brought about by Kilian's teachings, the Duke's wife had the three missionaries beheaded in Würzburg in the year 689. St Colman's feast day is October 27.
