The Baltic Exhibition was held from 15 May to 4 October 1914 and was an exhibition of industrial achievement, arts and crafts of the Baltic countries, which was attended by Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Russia.
The bridge takes road traffic from the Central railway station across a small canal and towards the city centre.
The date stone has the following text on it.
