In 1961 Frank Giuffrida bought a club in Saugus that he converted into a western-style Hilltop Steak House. Although, in October 1994, Dick Monfort of High Country Investor, Inc. acquired the assets of the Hilltop Steak House, the enormous saguaro cactus that has been the logo of the steakhouse still retains the former owners name.
The fiberglass cactus is estimated to be about 60' tall. Two arms reach out from the central stem which support a three large signs. The top two neon signs spell out "HILLTOP" "STEAK HOUSE" and the lower internally lighted sign reads "Frank Giuffrida".
Equally curious is the herd of fiberglass cows that graze in front of the restaurant.
