This redwood tree fell in 2006. The section on display was from 70 feet up the tree. This tree's first ring dates to 912 AD, making it over 1,000 years old.

This redwood tree cross section is located near the Visitor Center of
Humboldt Redwoods State Park. This tree fell near Bear Creek on December 26, 2006. The cut that the date tags are mounted on is a third cut about 70 feet above the base. The beginning ring at the center is from 912 A.D.
