Two brothers Stuart and Ben Blackton own a hotel and a vineyard respectively. There is no love lost between them.
Rosemary has been hired by Ben to solve a weed problem in the vineyard and stays at the hotel. Whilst there she bumps into Angus Fairley the restaurant critic. Stuart asks Rosemary if she can find out what Angus is going to write in his review. Before she can do this Angus is found dead with an apparent heart attack and a bottle of Ben’s fine wine in his hand.
Rosemary investigates the hotel and vineyard and finds a butane cylinder. The butane had been used to spike the wine, leading to the fact that Angus was murdered. When they later find Stuart with a corking and labelling machine they realise that Stuart had tampered with the wine so that Angus could not write a bad review.
