As you get to the centre of the village there's a small grass triangle at the junction of Tiptree Road and Bung Row, here's the village sign and the side nearest shows a stylised village scene; village pump, trees, birds, flowers and an ear of corn.

Turn round and face the cricket pitch through the five-barred gate and the sign carries another scene from village life; trees, rabbits, birds and a apple (ball) taking the bails off the stumps at the local needle match.
