Though there is
another trail which will get one to the goal, we've not walked that one, so can't yet comment on it.
This trail begins just below the hospital and takes one on a steep uphill climb through woods for 1 km., at which point it meets the Miral Heights Trail, which is fairly flat for the 1/2 km. out to the viewpoint. Turn left (south) when you meet that trail.
The reward is the best viewpoint in the area, overlooking the City of Trail, the Columbia River Valley and the Teck smelter.
The viewpoint itself is large, with lots of area to roam around and view the town. Don't fall off the cliff, though, as most of it is above a seriously high vertical drop. There is a single bench placed at the end of the trail with a superb view. The cliff below is where the local high school grads go to paint their graduation notices for all the world to see.
For the benchmark hunters, BC Survey Marker 4128 is up there, which is actually why we took the hike.
