This is a fairly new memorial park that we stumbled upon while in downtown Goldsboro. It is very nice and I thought this would be a great location for my first Waymark.

There are many well done features in this small park. The fountain and a large engraved map of the entire county were our favorites. There is also a shelter and several memorial plaques honoring veterans from all branches from Wayne County.
The memorial consists of a free standing brick wall, approximately 4½ long X 42¾ wide. The bricks are bull nosed on top and additional bricks are used for a base equal to its width. A black, lucite or other synthetic plastic material is fastened to the center of the brick, leaving a small border of bricks to surround. The seals of the 5 military branches are on top and the inscription is beneath this which reads:
