We noticed the peace pole while driving to the Lowes store across the street, taking a break from our drive to a wedding in Lansing. Sadly, as we pulled up to take the pictures, we learned of the Sandy Hook tragedy which had just taken place.

The plaque on pole states: "Donated to the students and staff of St. Monica School from Girl Scout Troop #418 September 11, 2002."
