The sign has the depiction of a top hat...assuredly to remind us that this IS the Land of Lincoln. On the hat are words for "Welcome" in English, French, Spanish, German and Chinese followed by "To Springfield"
The sign indictaes the Mayor-Timothy J. Davlin and that it was placed by the Springfield, Illinois Convention and Visitors Bureau.
