The sign shows the porch of the Church of All Saints in the centre with the coa of the Abbott of Westminster to the left and the coa of Essex County to the right. Below the coas are a Bunch of Godetias, famously grown for seed by the Sherwood family, and a vine of Kelvedon Wonder peas, both indicating the farming nature of the area. Above all is the village name in gold. On the post is a plaque indicating that Feering was recorded in the Domesday Book, 1086.

The porch door shows a niche over which reproduces the terra cotta bas-relief of Our Lady and the Holy Child. It was designed by Stella Ling in 1985.

The Coat-of-arms of Essex show the three sea axes, the blazon is: Gules three Seaxes fessewise in pale Argent pomels and hilts Or points to the sinister and cutting edges upwards.

The coa of the Abbott Westminster is shown as they were its Patrons and Rectors after exchanging Old Widsor for Feering.
