This painting is of "BOB", the local vernacular for the Big Orange Bridge across the west arm of Kootenay Lake at Nelson.

The bridge was built in 1957, to the great relief of the locals, as it replaced a ferry which by that time was seriously overtaxed.

The painting was done in 2011 by Tea Preville, a Nelson resident whose body of work has become quite large. She is an artist of eclectic output and eclectic media, this one a Plein-Air Oil Study.
