Die Obermühle ist heute ein Restaurant. Das Wasserrad, welches sich direkt dort befindet - 4 m breit, 5,6 m im Durchmesser - treibt einen Generator an, welcher dadurch ca. 90.000 kWh Strom pro Jahr produziert. Das Wasser dafür liefert die in unmittelbarer Nähe liegende Lahn.

Die heutige Obermühle hieß früher "Stiftsmühle" und wurde 1237 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Lange Zeit waren alle Limburger verpflichtet, ihr Korn ausschließlich dort mahlen zu lassen. 1875 wurde die Mühle bei einem Brand in großen Teilen zerstört.

The "Obermühle" (translates loosely to "Upper Mill") is today a restaurant. The water wheel, 4 m wide and 5.6 m in diameter, is located next to it. The wheel drives a power generator, which generates approx. 90,000 kWh of electrical energy per year. The water for the wheel comes from the river Lahn, flowing very near by.

The mill was formerly known as "Stiftsmühle", which was mentioned in old documents in 1237 the first time. For a long period of time, the mill was the one to be used exclusively for all citizens of Limburg to mill their crop. Large parts of the old mill were destroyed by a fire in 1875.
